Myung Jin Kim
Artist Kim Myung-jin's work combines painting and illustration to build an art world that visualizes human inner emotions and everyday experiences.
Her original style Dreamy Realism is not just a static image, but a 'visual poem' that crosses the boundaries of reality and imagination and conveys energy that seems to be moving with human emotions.
Kim Myung-jin's work is a journey that captures the spirit of the East in the appearance of Western painting. She created the work by stacking dyes and layers on the back of the canvas with an experiment that started with the belief that the texture and color of Western painting could be a means of capturing the thinking emotions of Eastern painting. Although the artist majored in Western painting, the root of her gaze and thinking lies in the aesthetics and sensibility originating from the East, and at the boundary where these two worlds meet, she tried to complete a sensuous and thoughtful painting by combining Western painting materials with the Eastern expression method. By fusing the two traditions, the artist thinks that visual materials and mental messages complement each other.
By fusing Western symbolic approaches with Eastern aesthetics, the artist creates a poetic space where emotions and thoughts coexist, providing a shelter for emotions that touch the wounds of modern people through pictorial healing and emotional resonance.
